Since 2019, the Chicago Peace Fellows program has inspired, equipped, and connected grassroots leaders in dozens of communities across the city of Chicago to lead community driven social change
The Chicago Peace Fellows (CPF) is a citywide network of grassroots leaders working collectively to reduce violence, build peace, and strengthen communities across Chicago. We believe real and lasting progress begins with community power building ensuring those closest to the challenges, especially voices historically excluded, are centered and elevated as leaders in the movement toward a more just, peaceful, and sustainable Chicago.
Chicago Peace Fellows envisions a future where communities most impacted by violence and disinvestment have the power, resources, and leadership to shape their own safe and thriving community.
We advance grassroots peacebuilding and community transformation through three integrated priorities designed to strengthen local grassroots leadership, foster collaboration, and shift systems toward racial and economic equity:
- The Chicago Peace Fellows
- The Mutual Aid Collaborative
- Community Partnerships and Public Engagement
Together, these priorities form a holistic approach to peacebuilding.
